Here are some great
tips which you can use right now about Fear
of Flying
1. Look forward for
your ultimate destination! For me, the butterflies within the stomach would
appear DAYS before my flight was even designed to occur and obviously got worse
once I acquired on the plane. When you take your seat about the aircraft, don't
visualize scenes of misfortune. Start thinking about things you are likely to
do when you finally get for your destination. Hype yourself up!
If you are going to an
island, think about how beautiful that exotic white beach and crystal blue
water will probably be! I have found that when you force positive images into
your face and anticipate the good memories that you will create, you forget
about your concern!
2. Melatonin is your
best buddy! Melatonin is a naturally occurring chemical inside your brain that
makes us fall asleep and can make your first couple of experiences a bit easier
until you can fly without fear having
it; that's because you'll sleep through the majority of it! If you are taking a
brief flight, one tablet or 5mg of Melatonin should be enough that will help
you sleep during your flight with your own sleep cycle not being affected.
If you're flying for
more than 7 several hours, 2 tablets will be sufficient. (For worldwide travel,
I recommend taking a flight where your departing time here in the usa is an
overnight flight. You WILL sleep through the majority of the flight and when
you wake upward, you will be on your location country's time. ) Melatonin is
secure, inexpensive and you can purchase this over-the-counter at any pharmacy.
3. Planes are
incredibly safe! Don't even allow yourself to start the "what ifs.” You
understand what I'm talking about: "What if the plane loses power whenever
we take off, " "What if there's an electrical problem while we tend
to be flying, " "What if we hit really bad turbulence and also the
plane can't take it, " "What when there is wind shear when we try in
order to land? " ALL of these questions and much more I used to ask myself
whenever I'd fly and it would create only anxiety for me.
Commercial planes are a
few of the toughest machines that man has actually created. With cruising
altitudes of 36000 feet, turbulence, and even illumination strikes, planes are
designed to safely allow it to be through anything that is thrown from them!
Plane crashes, contrary to popular belief are extremely rare and unfortunately
if one will occur, the FAA investigates thoroughly the reason and ensures that
the safety guidelines for those planes, present and future fleet, are updated
to avoid another accident; making flying for a person even safer. Every since
9/11 there has been strenuous safety and security guidelines how the Federal
Aviation Administration has set up to not only make flying secure, but
enjoyable.: )
